Pee Wee Sports

This program is designed for parents and children to learn different sports together in a fun environment. Sports change each season and include basketball, football, soccer, t-ball, tennis and other gym games.

Coed Mighty Mite sports

5K - Grade 2
Participation, FUNdamentals and sportsmanship are the focus of this program. Participants are put on teams based on their grade or school. Each week, volunteer coaches will spend half the class working on skills. Games will be played during the second half of class.

Mighty Mite Football
September 6 - October 18, 2008
Kindergarten - Grade 2 in Fall 2008

Registration for the 2008 Mighty Mite Flag Football season for the communities of New Holstein, Oostburg, Plymouth, Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls will begin on May 12.

Day and time of this program varies by community. Registration forms will be handed out at local schools the week of May 5. A separate registration form is required. For more information, please contact Fred Huether at 467-2464 or Matt Mueller at 451-8000.

Fishing for Fun
Summer A, Thur 3:00pm - 4:00pm, Age 5 & Older
Sheboygan Falls YMCA
Boys and girls of all ages can enjoy the outdoors while fishing with Fred. Children will learn knot tying, casting, baiting and the conservation of fishing. Children should bring their own fishing pole. Bait is provided. This class meets at River Park.

Tae-kwon-do
Children Age 5 & Older and Adults - Sheboygan Falls YMCA

This program teaches Tae-Kwon-Do, a Korean Martial Art, in a fun, yet challenging atmosphere. You will build confidence, learn self-control and skills that are useful at home, school, work and in every day life. Tae-Kwon-Do will improve your flexibility and build healthy minds and bodies.

Lil’ dragons
Wed 6:30pm - 7:15pm
Sat 9:30am - 10:15am
The Lil’ Dragons is for children ages 5 - 7. This program consists of basic martial arts skills, life skills, fun activities and games.

Cedar Grove Baseball & Softball
June 9 - August 7, 2008
Kindergarten - Grade 8

The Sheboygan Falls YMCA and the Cedar Grove Recreation Department have joined forces to offer baseball and softball this summer. Children in kindergarten - grade 2 will play t-ball or coach pitch on combined teams. There will be separate leagues for boys and girls in grades 3 - 8. A separate registration form is required. Meet in the East Gym on Monday and Wednesday for 45 minutes of gym games or outdoor fun and in the Gymnastics Center on Friday for 45 minutes of gymnastics. These activities will be followed by free swim time in the Garton Pool. Children will be accompanied to the locker rooms and the pool. Parent pick up will be at the pool. Please wear swim suit under clothing. Gym shoes are required.

Meet in the Gymnastics Center on Monday and Wednesday for open gymnastics and in the East Gym on Friday. This program features gymnastics, sports, the nrgZone, swimming, character development and lots of fun with your friends. Parent pick up will be at the pool.

Afternoon Fun Club

Ages 6 - 10

Take advantage of this fun, active and supervised program this summer. Meet in the Muth Gym for a variety of games followed by open swimming. After swimming, the Fun Club will feature more activities including art projects, outdoor activities at the park, the nrgZone and more! You may register for certains for the entire summer, just session A or B or call ahead for “drop in” attendance; the daily fee is $2.00 for County Family or $3.00 for Youth or Branch members and $4.00 for participants. All Sports Program
Summer A & B - Sheboygan YMCA
Grades 2 - 5
This program is for boys and girls who love sports. The sports to be played include baseball, basketball, floor hockey, football, soccer, beach games and more. Class will meet in the East Gym.

Zumba for Kids
Summer A & B - Sheboygan YMCA, Tue 6:15pm - 7:00pm
Ages 7 - 14
Kids, join Amanda and Lindee for this youth version of Zumba, the hot new Latin-inspired aerobic class. Enrollment is limited.

“SPARK”
Strength, Play & Resistance Training for Kids

Summer A & B - Sheboygan YMCA, Tues & Thur 11:00am - 12:00pm
Ages 10 - 12
It’s not too early to get started with strength training; it is beneficial even at younger ages. Fitness and fun combine to get kids off to a great start. Children may use the Lifestyle Center only during class.

Tennis Lessons
Grades 3 - 6 - Sheboygan YMCA
Summer B, Mon 9:00am - 10:00am
This quality class will focus on skill, technique, scoring, game strategy and the FUNdamentals of tennis.

Grades 3 - 8
Summer A & B, Beginners, Tues & Thur 10:00am - 11:00am
Summer A & B, Intermediate, Tues & Thur 11:00am - 12:00pm
This quality class will focus on skill, technique, scoring, game strategy and the FUNdamentals of tennis. Lessons will be taught at Deland Park or in the East Gym.

Each session, a clinic and skill evaluation will be held from 10:00am - 11:00am for all registered players. Players will be grouped by ability and age. Call Matt at 451-8000 for more information

Youth Performance Enhancement
Summer A & B - Sheboygan YMCA, Tues & Thur 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Grades 3 - 6

This class is for young athletes that are serious about improving their ability. They will perform quickness, agility and plyometric drills. Improved speed and explosiveness will be the main focus of the class. Fee is per session. Class meets in Lohmann Gym.

Spanish for Kids
July 8 - 29, 2008
Ages 9 - 16

Tues 8:00am - 8:45am or
Fri 1:00pm - 1:45pm
Learn more than just how to count to ten. Using fun games and interactive activities, this class will give young learners an opportunity to develop speaking proficiency in the Spanish language that can be used in daily life.

Chinese for Kids
August 5 - 19, 2008,
Ages 9 - 16

Tues 8:00am - 8:45am or
Fri 1:00pm - 1:45pm
This program will focus on common features of the Chinese language, such as the four tones, to give the students a solid background and familarity with Mandarin Chinese. Basic greetings, common expressions and a section of sports will be introduced due to the Summer Olympics in Beijing.
